Need help with testing for the CE mark?
Ever since 1996 we have had our own in-house resources for compliance testing for EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) and LVD (low-voltage directive for electrical safety). 1996-1997 it became mandatory for european manufacturers and importers to fulfill the CE requirements.
During the years after 1996 we have added more equipment to our test facilities. The G-strip TEM cell is perhaps the most used unit. It enables us to perform full testing for radiated emission and immunity at objects with the size up to about 50 x 40 x 30 centimeters . With this TEM cell we can reach up to 20 V/m and we can cover the entire frequency range 80 MHz to 1000 MHz. Testing is normally performed with 80% AM, being very revealing for the quality of audio and video products. Normal requirements are 3 V/m or 10 V/m immunity.
Testing for conducted emission and immunity can be carried out with up to 5000 V transients onto power lines and other cables. ESD, electrostatic discharge testing up to 8000 V can also be performed. Voltage dips in various combinations as well as surge pulse generation up to 2200 V and 1100 Amps can be used for testing. |

The measurements result is assembled into a comprehensive set of documentation (Technical File), including all relevant information and images. We do not claim that we can perform any kind of measurement. However, the tests we can perform will most likely be sufficient for use as support documentation along with the CE declaration.
As an alternative, our testing services may be used for pre-compliance testing during the design of a product, in order to get an early warning of potential EMC problems. This might save expenses later in the development process.

Cost for EMC / LVD testing depends on the products complexity and the character of the tests
required. As a thumb of role we estimate the cost for an ordinary electronic product to be in the range € 1000 - 2000.
